Meta

Tech Narrative & Platform Strategy

I led digital communications strategy for Meta’s tech innovations during the company’s transition from Facebook to Meta — one of the most consequential and scrutinized corporate pivots in its history — supporting the Chief Technology Officer and other senior leadership.

The company was accelerating investments across artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, and global infrastructure. But as traditional media became a less reliable distribution layer—and narratives about tech grew more fragmented and contested—the strategic logic was clear:

The Context

owning the platform — and the narrative — is a strategic imperative.

That meant building a digital communications ecosystem capable of setting the agenda for how Meta's tech innovations were understood by core audiences— the AI researchers, engineers, and developers building them; the policymakers and regulators scrutinizing them; and the broader tech-informed public seeking to make sense of it.

The platforms

  • AI Blog

This digital platform was designed to explain Meta’s artificial intelligence innovations and research to the AI community. Its content generated news within the tech media—and often the content was repackaged for broader owned channels, like Tech@Meta, and the company’s primary Newsroom.

  • Tech@Meta

This platform was built to explain Meta’s tech innovations to a broad, tech-informed audience — from consumers and policymakers to engineers and AI researchers — while serving as a hub for flagship thought leadership, including CTO Notebook. In 2021, we expanded it with Ideas, a dedicated vertical featuring perspectives from technology leaders across Meta, including the Boz to the Future podcast.

  • Engineering Blog

A platform designed to translate Meta’s engineering innovations and technical research for the global engineering community. I led cross-functional strategy between communications and engineering to shape deeply technical content for a specialized audience.

  • Oculus Blog

A platform focused on showcasing product innovation, cultural moments, and new releases across Meta’s VR ecosystem. It served as a core channel for engaging the global gaming community while positioning Oculus as an emerging tech and entertainment platform.
